Source: Titans to host RFA Linebacker

Restricted free agent Jonathan Casillas is scheduled to visit the Tennessee Titans on Monday, a source confirmed.

The speedy weak-side linebacker appeared in 13 games last season for the Saints and started 5. He was originally signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2009.

Titans starting WLB Will Witherspoon is on the final year of his contract and is listed with a base salary of $3.5 million.

If the Titans sign Casillas to an offersheet, the Saints would have seven days to match it. However, since he was not drafted, the Saints wouldn’t get any compensation in return for not matching. Restricted free agents have until Apr. 20 to sign offersheets from other teams.

With the Saints now loaded at linebacker after recently signing David Hawthorne, Curtis Lofton and Chris Chamberlain, it seems rather unlikely they would match an offersheet from another team for Casillas.
