With the loss of starting C Rodney Hudson (leg) for the season, the Kansas City Chiefs had C Casey Wiegmann in for a visit earlier this week, an NFL source confirmed. Wiegmann did not work out during his visit.
Wiegmann, 39, started 32 straight games during his second stint with the team from 2010-2011. And the durable veteran interior offensive lineman also started 111 out of 112 games for the team over a seven-year period (2001-2007) during his first stint.
The Chiefs signed veteran OL Russ Hochstein earlier this week, but veteran G Ryan Lilja is slated to start in place of Hudson this week against the visiting San Diego Chargers.
In addition to working out Hochstein, the Chiefs also worked out OT Nick Mondek and Gs Jason Slowey, Mike Gibson, and Jacques McClendon.
While Wiegmann didn't wind up signing a contract during his visit, it's not out of the question that he signs with the team later this season.
